Racing diecast is fairly new. The first Nascar diecast was made by Ertl in the mid - 1980s. Racing Champions entered production in 1989 with a handful of 1/64 cars. In 1993 Action packaged 1/64 cars made by Racing Champions, and by 1994, Action was making their own diecast molds.
