  
Denny Hamlin is the new Joe Gibbs teammate, driving the #11 FedEx car. Hamlin was born on November 18, 1980 and started driving the Nextel Cup FedEx Chevrolet in 2005. Hamlin drove the final seven races of the 2005 Nascar Nextel Cup season and finished in the top-10 three times. His career up to then consisted of one top-five and ten top-10s in the Busch series along with one top-10 on the Craftsman Truck circuit.
Denny Hamlin began racing at age 7 in the go-kart series; he won 127 races including his first, earned three track championships, and two state championships. Hamlin's young driving career was successful in the Nascar Limited Dash Series, the Mini-Stock Division, Nascar Grand Stock Division, and Late Models before entering the Craftsman Truck and Busch series.
