2007 Toyota in Nascar
The 2006 Nextel Cup race season has ended and we can all look forward to next year. When Toyota entered the Truck series, many fans were unhappy, but now that the truck races have become more interesting with Toyotas on the track, people may be more willing to accept the foreign competition in the Cup series. Toyota’s entrance into the Nascar Cup series will give many young drivers and veterans a new avenue to showcase their own talents along with bringing in new money and new sponsors. Diecast Numbers
Question: I bought a Denny Hamlin first win car from you. It says 1 of 2,952. P/N 113007. What does that mean? What is P/N ?
Answer: On the box, 1 of 2952 simply means that you have one of the 2952 cars produced. The P/N number is the part number. In 2006 and continuing in 2007, Action, now Motorsports Authentics (MA) is serial numbering the 1/24 diecast; you will find your serial number in the rear window of the diecast car - the total number is called the DIN (diecast identification number analogous to a VIN) and the final grouping (in this car's case the final four numbers) is the serial number. If you have web access, be sure to check out the DIN website and register your collectibles – the printable titles are unique and a great addition to your collectible’s value.

* Many changes will be noticeable in the 2007 diecast now that Motorsports Authentics has merged Action and Team Caliber to produce the best product for you collectors. As members of the MA Dealer’s Network, we will be receiving two different 1/64 diecast cars: the first will come packaged in a window box and will resemble a Team Caliber Pit stop car, retailing from $7.99 to $10.99, and the new option is the Dealer’s Select clamshell packaged hood open 1/64 diecast, a step above the pit stop in detail and low production numbers, retailing from $9.99 to $14.99.
The 2007 MA 1/24 diecast will be termed Dealer’s Select and will resemble the combination of a Preferred series and standard Action 1/24 diecast with some improvements. MA will continue to serial/DIN the 1/24 collectibles for 2007, enabling online registration and the option to print a title for your diecast.
Holiday Wishes
We at Sue’s Race Shop are excited about the 2007 Nextel Cup series. During the months of December and January, we go through racing withdrawl with no weekend races, but the Bud Shootout and Daytona 500 come quickly after the holidays. When the cars are not running on the track, I do have time to sort through and admire my diecast collectibles - remember to display your collectibles in cases for maximum enjoyment. We wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving and much joy through the upcoming holidays!
